Proceedings of the ACL 2002 Workshop on Effective Tools and Methodologies for Teaching Natural Language Processing and Computational Linguistics
The paper describes the design and development of a system of web-based courses in constraint-based grammar formalisms. We propose the creation of a web-based training framework comprising a set of topics that revolve around the use of feature structures as the core data structure in linguistic theory, its formal foundations, and its use in syntactic processing. The paper presents the general perspective on the work that we are doing in the MiLCA project Grammar Formalisms and Parsing.
